The list of the seventh batch of national ecological civilization construction demonstration zones was released at the China Ecological Civilization Forum Jinan Annual Conference held on October 28.
Fenghuang County was included in the list, indicating that the county has taken a milestone step on the Chinese path to modernization in which human beings and nature coexist harmoniously.
The national ecological civilization construction demonstration zone is currently the highest honor in the field of ecological civilization construction in China. It not only reflects the achievements in the construction of ecological civilization, but also highlights the efforts and practices guided by the concept of green development to achieve win-win results in environmental protection and economic development.
In recent years, Fenghuang County has continued to protect the Tuojiang River through institutional norms, industrial layout, water environment protection, and infrastructure construction, increase green areas to promote economic and social development, promote the environmental protection through popular forms such as environmental theaters, comics, picture albums, and songs, and transform tourism resource advantages into industrial advantages to achieve the added value of clear water and green mountains, and enable the coordinated development of the nature and economic and social development.
As of now, Fenghuang County has won titles such as “National All-for-one Tourism Demonstration Zone”, “National Water Ecological Civilization City”, “Charming County of Deep Breath Ecotourism in 2023”, and “Ecological Civilization Construction Demonstration Zone in Hunan”.
The Tuojiang River has been awarded the “Beautiful River in the Yangtze River Economic Belt” and the “Most Beautiful Hometown River”.
